The Bacchus Marsh Rotary Club will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the annual Queen’s birthday weekend art show from Friday June 10.

The show has been postponed multiple times due to pandemic restrictions, but will be making a triumphant return with a special art show event.

This year, the art show will offer a $3000 Best in Show prize called the Diana Gibson award, sponsored by long-time supporter of the event Diana Gibson.

In addition to the main award, there will be nine other prizes to be awarded, including Best Photograph, sponsored by Moorabool council.

The judge of this year’s event is Beckett Rozentals who is a National Gallery of Victoria curator of pre-1980 Australian Art, who has worked on a number of prominent exhibitions.

The total prize money on offer for this year will be $12,700.

Other features of the event will include a children’s art quiz, a special anniversary raffle and a silent auction.

The four-day event will kick off with the official prize presentations accompanied by live music on Friday evening from 7pm.

The show will be held at the Bacchus Marsh Public Hall on Main Street and tickets are $20 for families, $8 for adults and $5 for children and concessions.
