A woman was taken to hospital after her home in Melton West caught on fire on Monday afternoon.
Emergency services responded to her call to Triple-0, as she said her “lounge room was on fire”.
The emergency response was escalated when fire crews saw significant smoke en-route to the property and thirty firefighters in total attended the incident.
The single storey brick home was fully engulfed in flames and threatening neighbouring properties when firefighters arrived.
After about 45 minutes, the fire was declared under control.
The home sustained extensive damage and the cause of the fire will be investigated by authorities.
The woman was taken to hospital for treatment of burns and smoke inhalation.
