A massive shire-wide festival is coming to Moorabool, with a month of live entertainment for residents to enjoy over winter.
The Hide and Seek music festival will run from June 25 and will feature more than 60 artists across 20 venues, each Saturday in Blackwood, Gordon, Bacchus Marsh and Ballan.
The festival is presented by Live and Local in partnership with Moorabool Shire Council and will highlight local artists and unique venues found only in the shire.
The events are all-ages and free to attend, aiming to boost tourism in the region.
The live acts will include musical genres such as bluegrass, indie folk, rockabilly, blues and pop music inside venues ranging from an antique store, a bowling club, a caravan, a church and a hat shop.
Moorabool council has partnered with the Live Music Office to deliver Live and Local, a program which seeks to strengthen grassroots live music of local communities.
Through the program the council is offering professional development workshops for local musicians, an industry forum and the Hide and Seek festival.
Moorabool mayor Tom Sullivan said the festival would provide a rare opportunity for locals and visitors to discover new music.
“This festival will create a fantastic opportunity for locals and tourists to see and hear the uniqueness the region has to offer,” Cr Sullivan said.
The full festival program will be launched on Monday May 30.
