George Cross continue strong form

Caroline Springs George Cross made it five wins from five games when it defeated Altona City 2-0 in the Men’s State League 1 North-West competition at City Vista on Saturday night.

The home-side, George Cross, opened the account in the 27th minute through Levi Tarbotton and doubled the score later in the 65th minute to take home a win.

George Cross now sit five points clear on top of the ladder after five rounds.

In the Men’s State League 4 West competition Westside Strikers Caroline Springs picked up its fourth win of the season defeating Melbourne City FC 4-0.

Springs Hills suffered a 3-0 defeat to Laverton keeping them winless on the bottom of the ladder.

The Springs Hills women’s senior side will take the field this Sunday for its opening game of the season against Ballarat in the Women’s State League 2 North-West competition.

Melton Phoenix recorded its fourth win of the season thrashing Wyndham 7-0 away from home in the Men’s State League 5 West competition.

The win puts them into second position on the ladder after five rounds.
