Melton will host an exciting event which will see the suburb lit up with interactive neon art installations.

‘Illuminate Melton’ will run from Thursday April 7 to Saturday April 9 and exhibit the work of renowned Australian visual artist Carla O’Brien.

Ms O’Brien will install a range of small and large scale pieces around Melton’s Clock Tower Ampitheatre and other various locations along Bakery Square for the event.

The final night of the event will see up to 32 neon installations appear, along with a variety of activities for the whole family to enjoy.

Some of the activities will include glow in the dark mini golf, LED face painting, an LED circus space and roving LED hula hoopers.

The City of Melton planned the event as a part of plans to revitalise Melton’s town centre and attract more members of the community to the area.

Cr Sophie Ramsey said the event was a great opportunity for community members to reconnect with one another after long COVID lockdowns.

“Anything that promotes a family friendly atmosphere with people getting out and enjoying themselves will be sensational,” she said.
