Person freed following six vehicle crash on Western Freeway

A person has been freed and transported to hospital after six vehicles collided on the Western Freeway this morning.

At 10.50am, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews were called to the scene of the crash in Derrimut, where firefighters then worked to free the trapped individual.

Victoria Police closed outbound traffic on the road, while FRV and Ambulance Victoria personnel provided assistance at the scene.

The person was freed an hour later and transported to hospital.
