Diggers Rest Bulla fail to keep up

Diggers Rest Bulla suffered another loss in the Gisborne District Cricket Association McIntyre Cup, this time against Romsey.

Romsey batted first making 9-122 off their 35 overs.

Maninder Buttar was the best of the bowlers for the Burras taking three wickets.

Diggers Rest struggled in its innings, with only three batters managing to reach double figures.

The side was bundled out for 86 from its 33 overs.

Jake East was the pick of the bowlers for Romsey taking four wickets.

The Burras sit last on the ladder.

Bacchus Marsh, who sit second on the ladder, were set to play Rupertswood at Salesian College but the match was washed out and the points shared.

The Burras are scheduled to play against Woodend at Gilbert Gordon Oval Saturday.

Bacchus Marsh are set to face East Sunbury at Maddingley Park on the same day.

Meanwhile, the Victorian Turf Cricket Association called off all its matches on Saturday due to too many grounds impacted by the rain.

Matches in the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association went ahead, but Melton’s game against Spotswood didn’t go ahead. The two teams split the points.
