Three teenagers have been charged over an alleged kidnapping earlier this month.
Police executed five search warrants in the Melton area on January 28, as part of an investigation into the alleged kidnapping on January 19.
A 16-year-old boy from Brookfield was charged with kidnapping, extortion, armed robbery and false imprisonment. He was bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
A 17-year-old boy, also from Brookfield, was charged with kidnapping, extortion, armed robbery and false imprisonment.
In a statement, police said an application has been made to have the boy remanded in custody.
A 16-year-old boy from Harkness was charged with kidnapping, extortion, armed robbery and false imprisonment. Police have made an application to have him remanded in custody.
Two other teens, who are already in custody on unrelated matters, are expected to face a children’s court at a later date charged with kidnapping, extortion, armed robbery and false imprisonment.
