Solar panel installations were complete this week at Ballan Racecourse and Recreation Reserve which will mean a smaller carbon footprint contribution.
The installation of a five killerwatt rooftop solar system will save the reserve around $2500 every year.
It’s the first of 15 installations completed in the region, as part of the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning’s $9.2 million solar on public buildings program.
The program supports public facilities in regional Victoria and the volunteer committees who manage them.
