Bacchus Marsh Alive Inc. is excited to announce they will be reopening their pop-up markets next weekend.
Residents from Melton and Moorabool can expect food trucks, an animal farm, CFA display, musical acts and over 90 stalls.
Felicity Ashman from Bacchus Marsh Alive Inc. said “many of these vendors have not traded in almost 18 months are are keen to be back earning an income.
Ms Ashram said COVID restrictions have meant the markets and strawberry and cherry festival were unable to operate, but the organisation is looking ahead.
“It means everything, from vendors to staff, and volunteers, and the community to have an event to attend,” Ms Ashram said.
“These are one off events that will allow our stallholders and our community to engage, enjoy entertainment and outdoor activities.”
The group is relatively new and Ms Ashram said it has no funding to operate the market and festivals.
A Go Fund Me page has been set up to raise $20,000 to ensure their harvest festival can run next year and plan for new events.
“Events are a lovely way of bringing the community together and for making memories,” Ms Ashram said.
Although the group had previous support from the council, Ms Ashram said they have been “unable to obtain any council funding support that was previously provided to the old group”.
The markets will run Saturdays starting next weekend on November 20, then on December 11 and January 15, running from 10am to 7pm.
A gold coin donation is required upon entrance and COVID safety requirements will be in place.
