Halloween fundraiser for sick kids

In the lead up to Halloween, Melton Woolworths stores and The Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal are inviting locals to support sick and disadvantaged children.

With the financial impact of COVID-19 continuing to impact charities across Australia, Woolworths customers can purchase a $2 wall token with 100 per cent of funds raised supporting children in need.

All funds raised during the Halloween fundraising appeal will assist The Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal in their ongoing efforts to support children across Victoria, who are facing challenging times as a result of life-threatening diseases.

Woolworths Melton and Woolworths Woodgrove group manager Nannette Rose said it was a great way of combing the fun of Halloween with helping out some of the most in need in the community.

“As the Melton and Moorabool community begins to prepare for Halloween, we know this year’s celebrations will be a little different for many of us,” Ms Rose said.

“We want to provide an opportunity, for those who are able to, to support children in need at the same time.

“We’re constantly amazed by the generous spirit of our customers and the ongoing support they show for our partnership with The Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.

“This year, while shopping for their pumpkins, costumes and decorations for Halloween celebrations at home, we’re encouraging customers who are able to support other children and their families in Victoria, to make a charity donation or add a Halloween token to their shop.”

The campaign is currently running and will finish on October 31.
