Melton has become a hotspot for lotto winnings recently, with three big winners in the past two weeks.

Two Melton men and a Melton West couple both came out as winners in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draws last week, following a big win for a Melton man a week earlier.

The two Melton men won $100,000 in the June 9 draw, and were in such disbelief at the win that they hung up on lottery officials delivering the good news.

One of the men said he was still wrapping his head around the win.

“I have been receiving a lot of nuisance calls and I thought it might have been them, or it was some kind of prank,” he said.

“It wasn’t until I logged into my online account that I found out I won.

“I was very surprised. I couldn’t believe it.

“This is actually a private syndicate with a family member. I called him straight after I saw we’d won. He was shocked. He didn’t believe me at first.

“We’ve been playing every week for years, but we’ve never won anything like this. We are very happy indeed.”

The men said they planned to spend some of the winnings on some overseas travel when that is available again.

Meanwhile, the couple from Melton West are now searching for their first home after winning $102,000 in the June 5 draw.

“Like many people, we haven’t had a good start to the year. It’s been rough,” the husband said.

“I told the missus, it can only get better. And it has.

“Any time is a great time to win, to be honest, but this is wonderful news.

“We’ll be about to use it as a deposit for a house. We’ve wanted to buy a house for years. Every time we had a little bit of savings and started to look into it, all of a sudden something happened and we had to dig into the savings.

“This is crazy. It’s huge.”

The couple also plans to donate some of the winnings to a charity close to their hearts, Kids with Cancer.

Another Melton man had a win in the May 30 draw, which saw him take home more than $500,000.
