IN FOCUS: The Fit Station helps change lives

Kelly Dennis, the founder of The Fit Station Caroline Springs, has good reason to feel chuffed right now. She recently joined mums in business from all over the country where she placed third in the Victorian Business Excellence category at the glamorous shindig for the 10th annual St George Banking Group AusMumpreneur Awards.

Part of a national cohort of nearly 670,000 working women – nearly half of whom are mums of young children – Kelly is immensely proud to be counted among the talented, enterprising and hardworking group who have joined the AusMumpreneur Network.

“I am extremely honoured to have received this award amongst such an amazing bunch of business women,” Kelly says. “We love what we do at The Fit Station and to be able to change and make a difference in so many people’s lives is an honour. Mums especially have the chance to do something for themselves and know they can have their kids come along with them at no extra charge in a safe and welcoming environment.

“The calibre of the women at this event was nothing short of amazing. Mums are doing amazing things and I am so proud to be a part of this.”

Created to support Aussie entrepreneurs such as Kelly, AusMumpreneur Network was co-founded by Peace Mitchell and Katy Garner who are thrilled to drive the number one community for mumpreneurs.

“These awards are all about recognising the growing number of mums who are achieving outstanding business success and balancing that with motherhood,” Peace says.

“We are delighted that Kelly has been recognised with this award. She has created an outstanding business and is an inspirational role model and ambassador for mums in business everywhere.”

Katy agrees and adds: “The awards show the passion of women who want to fulfil their entrepreneurial dreams as well as be great mums.”

Stuart Zalunardo from St George Bank also sings the praises of mumpreneurs.

“St George Bank is keen to support Australian entrepreneurs like Kelly Dennis,” he says. “I was blown away by the entrepreneurial spirit of the award winners and am very confident they will inspire other mums considering starting their own business.”
