Sam’s fitness makeover

Samantha Frigo used to eat nothing but pub food and soft drink, but a change in diet and a focus on her health has transformed her life.

The Melton 24-year-old has lost more than 30 kilograms in the past 12 months, revolutionising her diet and exercising more to have her feeling better than she ever has.

“I manage a pub, so I could get anything I wanted, but I was always tired and was always putting on weight,” she said.

“I was the heaviest I’d been, so I decided it was time to do something. I went on Lite n’ Easy, and I started at the gym, and the further I went along and the results started to come the better I felt.

“I hated it at the start, but now I go to the gym every day, and the food thing is still difficult because I love food, but when it’s working it’s easy to stick to.”

Ms Frigo said the weight loss had better results than she’d expected.

“I was always tired before, but as soon as I started eating good I felt better,” she said.

“I was always lethargic, sleeping heaps and napping during the day, but I’ve got so much more energy now and I’m not getting sick as much.

“Anyone who’s wanting to lose some weight I’d say don’t go on these huge diets, there’s got to be some balance, otherwise when you stop dieting you’re going to put it all back on again.

“I still have days off, I still have the odd pub meal, but it’s not like before and I feel great because of it.”
