Honouring excellence

Thirty local businesses are in the running for the 2019 City of Melton Business Excellence Awards, after the finalists were announced last week.

A range of businesses from hospitality, trades, professional services, creative industries and more are in the running to win a business excellence award across 12 categories, including Business of the Year.

The awards, now in their 13th year, recognise and reward the contributions businesses make to the City of Melton and this year there was a 50 per cent increase in nominations.

Melton mayor Bob Turner said the quality of entrants was as high as it had ever been.

“I’d like to congratulate each of the finalists for making it this far,” Cr Turner said.

“I’m continually impressed by the outstanding achievements of local businesses and I look forward to celebrating the innovation, talents and contributions of our finalists.

“These awards are one of many council initiatives working to help local businesses thrive in the City of Melton.

“We’re grateful for the support from our event sponsors who help make the business awards possible.”

The Business of the Year will be decided from among the winners of the categories.

The awards gala dinner will be held at Tabcorp Park on August 30. Tables for the event can be booked at trybooking.com/BDAXB
