It’s a sign of the times

Children and families left their mark on the Moorabool Wind Farm last week.

The farm, which is currently under construction near Mt Wallace, had one of the giant turbine blades delivered last week, with excited locals given the opportunity to sign their name or leave a message on the side of the blade.

School groups and locals from around Ballan stopped by to get a closer look at the 68-metre blade on March 27, before it was trucked to the site of the farm to become one of 107 wind turbines.

Once completed, the farm is expected to generate enough electricity to power 200,000 Victorian homes for a year, almost 9 per cent of the state.

Construction on the project began in July, 2018, and is expected to be completed by late 2019.
