Sarisa Kaewklang makes a gateau that will make your mouth water.
The Caroline Springs baker took home the silverware at the latest Victorian Baking Show earlier this month.
Ms Kaewklang’s gateau earned second prize at the bake-off.
Originally from Thailand, Ms Kaewklang used to work in massage therapy but decided to carve a new future in what she was passionate in – retail baking.
“I’m very happy and proud of myself for winning this award,” the 47-year-old Kangan Institute student said.
“I love cooking and baking so I decided to enrol in retail baking.
“It’s what I enjoy doing and hope it will lead to a job in baking.”
Ms Kaewklang joined two of her fellow classmates, Nibal Almarri and Cassandra Hedger, in clinching the top three prizes in the gateau category of the baking competition.
Kangan Institute chief Trevor Schwenke said the students’ win reflected their passion and skills in the field.
“We’re very proud of our student bakers for excelling at state competitions like the Victorian Baking Show where students are competing against industry professionals,” Mr Schwenke said.
