New Coles for Woodlea

By Esther Lauaki

Residents in Rockbank’s new estates will soon have a supermarket close to home.

Woodlea will have a Coles supermarket at the heart of its upcoming town centre which is set to open next year.

Project director Matthew Dean said the announcement was a reflection of the rapid growth of the suburb.

“We want to ensure the delivery of local facilities matches the huge growth of the community,” Mr Dean said.

“The convenience of a central supermarket and destinational town centre will be the next jewel in the crown of this thoughtfully master-planned community.”

The closest supermarket is currently a 30-minute round trip away in neighbouring Caroline Springs.

Mr Dean said since launching in March 2015, Woodlea is home to 3000 residents and that is expected to grow to about 6000 residents
by 2020.

A cafe, pharmacy and medical centre, Bacchus Marsh Grammar Early Learning Centre and primary school and a sports precinct have already been established.

Woodlea’s Lora Djurdjevic said the 3690-square metre, market-style Coles will feature the latest fit out, an in-store bakery, a continental delicatessen offering a large range of cheeses and seafood and a Liquorland.

There will also be a 350 space car park as well as an adjacent bus stop.
