Fans of old and interesting machines and tools are gearing up for this weekend’s Ballan Great Vintage Rally and Tractor
Pull.

The rally will be held on Sunday at Ballan racecourse. It has been running for more than 15 years and attracts up to 2000 visitors.

Ballan District Vintage Machinery and Vehicle Club treasurer Ray Meadows said the rally would feature vintage cars, sheep shearing, stationary engine exhibits, model trains, handcrafts and entertainment.

“I grew up on the farm and I’ve loved tractors and machinery since I was young,” he said. “I started collecting from there and have 12 tractors now.”

He said vintage enthusiasts would be treated to classic cars, tractors, motorbikes and vehicles of all descriptions.

Other highlights will include Ronaldson Tippett engines, flying displays, handcrafts and power boats.

Tickets: Adults $10, family $20 and children under-14 free. From 9am-4pm
