Shopping upgrade squares up

A $45 million extension of CS Square shopping centre is on track to open in April 2019.

The works under way include upgrades to the northern carpark and parents rooms.

More than 2500 solar panels have been installed to power all common areas of the centre, generating enough electricity to power about 110 homes.

Works have also begun to upgrade the centre’s disabled facilities, as well as lighting, landscaping and general amenities at the western entry.

Once completed, the CS Square development will offer an additional 6500 square metres of retail, which will include a Woolworths supermarket and 10 additional specialty stores.

There will be an addition of 230 carparks, bringing the total number of parking spaces to 1170, and a car wash in the eastern carpark.

CS Square shopping centre manager Rod Kennedy said the upgrades will offer greater accessibility and wider selection for shoppers.

“These upgrades will offer our customers an expanded variety of retail providing greater convenience,” he said.

“With works on track for completion in April next year, it will also help strengthen our position as one of  the leading shopping destinations within the Melton area.”
