Melton has finally returned to the winners’ list in Bowls Victoria Pennant, division 1, section 1.
A first-up loss on Saturday was followed by a handy win on Sunday.
In the first match, Melton went down to second-placed Sunbury.
Sunbury took all 18 points in its 86 (18)-61 (0) win.
But three of the four rinks were separated by five shots or less, with only one Sunbury rink having a big win.
That loss was Melton’s sixth in a row.

The win keeps Melton in sixth spot on 77 points. It sits 27 points behind fourth-placed Glenroy.
In the Central Highlands Bowls division, Bacchus Marsh smashed Gisborne Yellow, claiming all 18 points in the 146 (18)-61 (0) win.
With Kyneton Golf losing to Gisborne Red, the win moved Bacchus Marsh back to the top of the ladder.

In division 2, Macedon Ranges, Bacchus Marsh, Kyneton Red and Woodend were the winners.
Gisborne, Kilmore, Macedon Ranges, Woodend and Romsey came away with the points in division 3.
