There will be a jam-packed line-up of activities and attractions at this Saturday’s Djerriwarrh Festival.
The free family event, which draws thousands of people to Melton Recreation Reserve each year, promises something for everyone.
An estimated 35,000 people are expected to attend the festivities which will kick off at 11am with the annual street parade along High Street.
This year’s theme is All That Glitters.
Other main attractions will include the Djerriwarrh Festival bonfire, market stall village, Sustainability Lane, pet expo, an international food offering, Lion’s Club Carnival and an incredible fireworks display to cap off the day.
Melton mayor Bob Turner said the day
was always a major highlight in the community’s calendar with people coming from far beyond the municipality’s borders to enjoy the day.
“Many months of planning and organising have gone into creating this wonderful day which is sure to entertain both residents, and visitors to the area,” Cr Turner said.
The huge live music line-up on the main stage will be headlined by The Superjesus – one of Australia’s most popular and respected rock bands.
Other acts include Pierce Brothers, Gena Rose Bruce, Bad Pony and Maddy Jane.
