After visiting Melton Botanic Garden five years ago, local artist Sandra Pelly says she was inspired by the “huge” gum trees.
As a result she spent a lot of time at the garden, painting her surrounds and the gum trees. Those artworks will now be on exhibit at the Caroline Springs and Melton libraries from August 31 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Friends of the Melton Botanic Garden.
Pelly will also hold a workshop on folk art painting on October 2 and October 10 at Raglan Cottage, High Street, Melton.
“I was really amazed by folk art painting last year so I taught myself how to do it,” Pelly says.
