Do you want a new community garden in Taylors Hill or a community memorial in Rockbank? Or perhaps you want to support the Bacchus Marsh State Emergency Services get a new storage facility.

There are 11 community groups across Melton and Moorabool vying for state government funding as part of the Pick My Project initiative.

Project ideas with the most votes in the state will share in $30 million.

The local community is being rallied to vote for their top three projects.

Some of the Melton projects include a second renovation at the Melton Scouts Hall, a new electronic scoreboard for the Diggers Rest Football Netball Club, and a health and wellbeing festival.

In Moorabool, project ideas include a mental health awareness campaign, a playground at Masons Lane Reserve, and a youth radio training program.

Suburban Development Minister Lily D’Ambrosio said the state government had been inundated with many great community project ideas.

“Pick My Project is giving every community the chance to submit ideas, vote for them and then watch them happen,” Ms D’Ambrosio said.

Voting opened on Monday and will close September 17.

The $30 million funding pool will be divided between six metropolitan and nine regional areas, with each to receive at least $1 million for project ideas.

Between May and July, 2018, Victorians had the opportunity to submit a project idea.
