Riddell District Football Netball League grand final day will have a new location this year.
Having been at Romsey Park the last four years, the league has moved the season’s biggest day to Clarke Oval in Sunbury.
Clarke Oval, which is home of the Sunbury Lions, was used to host some finals last season, and has hosted a couple of regular season games in recent seasons.
Clarke Oval will host three finals across the four week final series, with the other four finals will be played at Romsey Park.
League operations manager Jordan Doyle said the decision to locate finals at those two grounds was made by the clubs.
“All clubs were surveyed at the end of the end of the 2017 season and the results indicated a preference for a two venue finals series and a neutral venue for the senior grand final,” he said.
“The RDFNL was eager to utilise Romsey Recreation Reserve as the league’s premier RDFNL venue during the finals series.”
In the four years that it held grand finals, Romsey Park saw some thrillers including the overtime win by Diggers Rest against Riddell in 2016.
The clubs will share the running of the bar, raffle and canteen across the seven finals.
The RDFNL finals start on August 25.
