The countdown is on for the Burnside Retirement Village annual fete and Gordon Douglas is keeping a sharp eye on the clock.
Mr Douglas, who will be selling donated clocks and watches, is one of a host of stall holders at the March 25 event.
Organiser Marlene Gorman said the fete attracts more than 1000 people.
“Most times it’s our good used furniture and the trash and treasure that keep people coming back,” Ms Gorman said. “People come to have a look around all the wonderful things on offer … the whole village gets behind this fete whether it’s by making a cake or getting behind a stall.”
The proceeds will go toward improvements at the retirement village, activities and a new barbecue area.
Among the highlights will be trash and treasure stalls, used furniture, Devonshire teas and homemade cakes and jams. The fete will run from 9am to 3pm on March 25.
