Crews were called to the incident at Dohertys Road on Wednesday, November 29, at 5.30pm.
Thirty-six appliances from western Victorian brigades attended, along with multiple vehicles from the Metropolitan Fire Brigade.
CFA and MFB firefighters worked together with the assistance of two Helitak fire tanks to battle the blaze.
About 86 hectares were burned, with the fire under control by 8.15pm.
Crews were on scene for an extended period of time mopping up and monitoring hot spots.
The CFA issued a health warning because there was a significant amount of smoke in the area.
