Your own oasis: 32 Statesman Drive, Kurunjang, 3337

Relaxing under a spacious pergola, looking out to riotous cottage gardens, with nothing but the hum of pollen-gathering bees and the singing of birds to break the silence… This peace and beauty, a true retreat from busyness, is to be had in spades at this place.

The gardens throughout the block of about 1100 square metres are rather special, and the dense planting style keeps maintenance down to a manageable level. A focal tall specimen – a red flowering gum – is a bird magnet and a vegie garden is prepped for kitchen bounty.

The fresh-as-a-daisy house has a long entry hall with a sightline all the way to the rear living hub – this creates an immediate strong sense of space. Decor includes varying tones in highlight walls and roman blinds – both of which are in most rooms – while carpets are grey and floor tiles are off white.

Ranged along that long hall are a garden-view lounge room behind double doors, and three of the four fitted bedrooms, including the main.

The latter has walk-through robes and black-and-white en suite with enclosed toilet, while taupe roman blinds on a bay window colour-match the highlight wall.

The hall then takes a short turn to the left, where the fourth fitted bedroom, gleaming main bathroom, separate toilet and laundry are found.

The living hub, with orange feature wall, with matching pendant light, incorporates a big kitchen with scads of cupboards in white. Benches are mottled-charcoal laminate, and there’s a corner pantry, underbench oven and gas cooktop.

At the side, a spacious pergola has shelter blinds and a blue-painted ceiling. This connects with both a sturdy shadecloth-clad structure – for sitting under filtered light – and the rear pergola previously mentioned.

A gravel driveway from side gates leads to a brilliant business office, man cave or workshop. It’s a fully insulated Colorbond shed of 9×13-metres, with glass sliding-door entry, power, phone line and concrete floor.

The property also has ducted heating and cooling, water tanks and a drive-through double garage with internal access.
