Kurunjang man faces court on cannabis charges

A 29-year-old Kurunjang man faced court today after police seized a number of cannabis plants from a house in Kurunjang yesterday.

Detectives from Melton Crime Investigation Unit executed a warrant at a Hallmark Place property yesterday morning.

Police seized 74 cannabis plants along with equipment used to grow the plants.

The man was arrested at the property and subsequently charged with cultivate cannabis, trafficking cannabis, possession of cannabis, theft of electricity and possession of materials or equipment for trafficking a drug of dependence.

He was remanded in custody and is expected to appear at Sunshine Magistrates Court today.
