High-class in Highfield: 40 Highfield Way, Kurunjang, 3337

An impressive house in Highfield estate, this one has all the polish and generous space that discerning families will undoubtedly value. It perches on a giant block of about 2055 square metres, with the bonus of electric side gates to a long driveway. This leads to a large Colorbond shed encircled by extensive gravel parking space – right at the back, screened from the house by pittosporums.

The 2011 home’s entry is to a hallway with floor tiles in a pearl-grey, a restful shade also found on walls all through. To the right, there’s an open, grey-carpeted study with black-framed windows dressed in quality dark-grey tab curtains.

Opposite, sliding double doors in opaque glass introduce the main bedroom where designer wallpaper beautifully highlights one wall. It also has a ceiling fan (as in all bedrooms), a huge walk-in fitted robe and a large en suite with raised square basins atop stone, and an enclosed toilet.

Straight ahead, display shelves line a wall opposite opaque-glassed doors concealing storage, before entry to the vast, light-filled living hub. But before that, the hall ducks to the right, past a powder room, walk-in closet and double garage access. Then comes the laundry with stone bench, and a set of shelves along a second hall to the kitchen.

The kitchen, with cherry-red glass splashback, has a stack of cupboards in mid-grey laminate, a stone-topped island bench, a dishwasher and Baumatic 900mm cooker.

Designer wallpaper has other appearances in the carpeted sitting area adjoining the tiled meals zone, as well as the tiled rumpus room. Adding another level of chic, a combination of white plantation shutters and soft-grey roman blinds dress windows.

A carpeted hallway from the hub is shared by three big bedrooms – each with plantation shutters and mirrored robes – the sleek main bathroom (again, plantation shutters), and a separate toilet.

The meals area opens to a covered side deck, the boards of which wrap down the side and along the back under a gabled pergola – where lots of wooden seating between planter boxes is another level of polish this property shows. The huge side yard has a two-hole mini golf course, while the backyard is large and lawned.
