Let’s get physical this Active April

Springside P-9 College students are leading the charge for a healthier April, with more than 1100 students signing up to take part in Premier’s Active April.

Melton and Moorabool residents, of all ages and fitness levels, are being invited to join them by committing to 30 minutes of physical activity every day in April.

Registration is free and Melton residents who sign up will receive 10 free passes to use at Melton Waves.

More than 100,000 Victorians joined in the challenge last year, 3200 from Melton.

Kororoit MP Marlene Kairouz said 60 per cent of last year’s registrations were women and she urged women to continue leading the healthy charge.

“By committing to just 30 minutes of exercise a day for 30 days, you can make positive lifestyle changes and develop new healthy habits that will last a lifetime,” Ms Kairouz said.

“Our newest female sporting champions are inspiring us all. It is no surprise there is a huge wave of women and girls putting their hands up to embrace sport and getting active with friends.”

Active April participants will receive an array of gifts for signing up, including a one-hour free tennis court hire at Melbourne Park or Albert Reserve; 15 per cent off at Sportsmart; and a chance to win a bicycle valued at $1500.
