Castle brothers star with bat for Eynesbury Eagles

It was another big score for Eynesbury Eagles in the Western Suburbs Churches & Community Cricket Association’s A.E. Lowe Shield.

The ladder leaders, who have lost only one game for the season, piled on the runs against third placed West Melbourne on day one of their two-day match on Saturday.

The Eagles made a massive 8-372 off its overs, to continue their trend of high scores this season. It’s the fourth time this season the Eagles have scored more than 300 in an innings.

Though the total was a far cry from the 5-565 the Eagles made earlier in the season.

On Saturday, it was the Castle show as Hayden and Luke Castle dominated with the bat, not for the first time this season.

Hayden Castle posted 166, his third century of the season. He now averages 82.29 runs for the season.

His brother Luke wasn’t to be overshadowed, making his second century of the season. He was out for 100.

Luke averages 62 with the bat, the third highest in the team behind Hayden and Tristan Francis.

In other matches, Taylors Hill made 247 against St Johns.

St Johns will resume at 1-15.

Rockbank is 1-40 in reply to Williams Landing’s 153.

Jordan Porter was the pick of the bowlers for Rockbank taking 4-35.
