Music of the divine

Moorabool Light Orchestra’s first concert for 2015 is on Sunday afternoon, May 3, at 2pm, in St Bernard’s Catholic Parish Church, Bacchus Marsh. The 35-member orchestra will present a Celebration of Sacred Music and will feature inspirational sacred music selections conducted by musical director Barry Wilkins.

New short courses are available at Melton South Community Centre, including computers, meditation, Tai Chi, yoga and Brazilian cardio fusion dance, on April 30 and May 1. Other short courses include jewellery making on May 3, Ebay on May 4, Italian on May 6 and sewing on May 8.

Fundraiser for Featherweights

Lexi’s Legacy Car and Bike Show will be held on Saturday, May 2, in honour of Lexi Jade Anderson, who was born at 29 weeks and fought against the odds for 13 days. All funds raised go directly to the Featherweight Fund, to help with lifesaving equipment. At Macs Hotel on High Street.

Work out friend or foe

Girls with Attitude is a program for teenagers, aged between 13 and 17, who are struggling with relationships and friendships. Free make-up and pamper workshops included. The program runs one day a week for five weeks from 9am-3pm on April 23 and 30, and May 7, 14 and 21.
