Good sports in Riddell District Football Netball League

The Riddell District Football Netball League and McDonald’s are teaming up this season for a golden new partnership.

League media manager Shaun Kelly said the sponsorship would help the league assist its 13 clubs in a number of different ways, including helping to keep fees down.

“It will help strengthen our league and increase the assistance we can return to our clubs.”

Mr Kelly said all of the money the club raised through sponsorships filtered back in to help clubs.

Tim Westover, who is the licensee of McDonald’s restaurants in Sunbury, Sydenham, Gisborne and Watergardens, and his son, Ben, who is the licensee of restaurants in Melton, Melton East and Rockbank, are keen on the new partnership.

“It’s an extension of the sponsorships we are currently involved in for a number of the teams in the RDFL,” Tim said.

“Sport is something that is an important part of any community, particularly for young people. We see great potential for this moving forward.”

Mr Westover said the sponsorship was a way to give something back to the community.
