Search for Alfred Leather’s relative

Police have been unable to find the relatives of a 71-year-old man who was found dead at his Melton South home two months ago.

Police say they’ve made numerous inquiries interstate and overseas to find Alfred Leather’s next of kin, after he died of natural causes at his Coburns Road home on Sunday, September 18

Alfred was married twice – once in South Australia and then in Darwin – and had two children. It’s believed his daughter Elizabeth is living in South Australia, and his  son, who may be a pilot is in London.

Alfred changed his surname from Harm to Leather many years ago, and spent some time in the defence force.

Anyone who may know Alfred’s relatives or have any information to assist police, is urged to call 9747 7999.
