It was a history-making day for Bacchus Marsh in the Gisborne and District Cricket Association on Saturday.
For the first time, all six senior sides won matches on the same day.
In the McIntyre Cup, the Bulls entered day two of its match against Sunbury with the match firmly in their control.
The Bulls resumed at 2-59 chasing Sunbury’s 118. They made the runs with ease, clocking up 157.
Peter Lalor was the best of the Bulls’ batsmen, making 39.
Sunbury made 114 in its second innings.
Jared Taylor made the most of his opportunity to get a second chance to bowl, taking 7-50.
Skipper Rhys Watson claimed 3-30.
The win puts the Bulls just 1.7 points behind top-placed Sunbury.
In B-grade, the Bulls played out a thriller against St Anthonys. After starting well with the bat at 1-77, the Bulls collapsed to 9-175. This left them needing 10 runs with just one wicket in hand.
The match winner for the Bulls was 16-year-old Liam Taylor, who batted through 76 overs, making 36 not-out.
Taylor and Tom Cotton got the Bulls over the line.
The Bulls finished on 9-190.
The third and fourth XI’s both won matches against Diggers Rest, while Bradley Nichols provided a highlight in the G-grade competition.
Nichols bowled just two overs, but it was all he needed as he took a hat trick in the Bulls’ win against Woodend.
The sixth side defeated Gisborne.
