Health, Home & You expo a boon for women

Erica Pappas will take an oath to never commit, excuse or remain silent about violence against women.

The Caroline Springs woman has chosen to support the White Ribbon foundation at her inaugural Health, Home & You expo, which is being held later this month.

“White Ribbon merchandise will be available for purchase at the event and our silent auction fundraiser will serve to raise funds for White Ribbon and a local family in need of their service,” Ms Pappas said.

“I’m passionate about this cause. I have had personal and professional experience in the area, and am alarmed at the statistics of domestic violence occurrence in Australia in general, but more particularly in the community that I call home.”

There will be an opportunity for local schools and their students to take part in a White Ribbon poster competition.

Students are encouraged to research and showcase their understanding of domestic violence. The winner will receive their prize at the expo.

Ms Pappas said the day was going to be something exciting for everyone. The first 100 entrants will receive a free show bag.
