Pentland Primary School pupils are lining up for breakfast with friends.

The school last week started a breakfast club to stimulate young taste buds towards healthy eating choices.

Teacher Brianna Munro said breakfasts would be offered to all pupils every Monday and Friday before school.

“It’s about promoting ‘healthy breakfast, healthy mind’,” Ms Munro said.

“It’s very important the kids … ready for the day, and they can tackle any tasks for the rest of the day.”

Ms Munro said the breakfast club, which is run by integration aid Renee Forti, was very informal and was open to everyone.

“On Wednesday, we had some girls who sat on the couch and ate their breakfast, chatting,” she said. “It was lovely.”

The breakfast will offer cereal, baked beans, porride, toast and fruit.
