TAC Cup: Western Jets storm home for first win

Josh Webb showed his rucking skills as Western Jets secured their first win of the TAC Cup season on Saturday.

After trailing by four points at half-time against the Bendigo Pioneers, the Jets ramped up the pressure in the second half, conceding just one more goal.

Scoring was a lot easier at the other end, with the Jets booting five majors of their own to secure the 10.13 (73) to 7.10 (52) win.

Quade Butt and Jaycob Hickey both kicked two for the Jets, while the outstanding Jackson Volpato was named his side’s best player.

Volpato has been among the Jets’ best in five of his six games this season.

The win lifts the Jets to 13th and they’ll be away at sixth-placed Dandenong Stingrays this weekend.
