A forthcoming Sunday lunch will be packed with glamour for Darley woman Christine Clark.
Ms Clark will attend an exclusive lunch next month with Hollywood actress Susan Sarandon as part of Melbourne La Dolce Italia.
The event, launched last year and attended by actress Sophia Loren, showcases all things Italian.
Ms Clark said her prize came through a talkback call she made to a radio station.
“I guess they appreciated what I had to say, because I ended up winning caller of the day and my prize was the tickets.
“I couldn’t believe it. I’m a huge movie buff and I am Italian so this prize is right up my alley. I couldn’t contain my excitement. This is very exciting for me.”
During the event, Ms Clark will be immersed in stories about Sarandon’s illustrious career and learning about her life out of the limelight.
The Academy Award-winning actress will participate in lunch and evening presentations, including meet and greet opportunities, at the Regent Theatre on August 7.
Her visit coincides with the 25th anniversary of one of her most popular films, Thelma and Louise.
Sarandon, who is Italian on her mother’s side, said her association with La Dolce Italia is a nod to her heritage that allowed her to show support for the festival’s charity partner for 2016-17, Bully Zero Foundation Australia.
“I’m very excited to visit Melbourne for the first time, especially to participate in events that support such a worthy cause,” she said.
“As a mother and a grandmother, working with causes that support the protection of children is incredibly important to me.”
