Melton mums and bubs fitness program takes home top award

Fitness programs used by Melton mums and bubs took home a top national industry award this month.

Kangatraining, which runs programs in Burnside, Hillside and Melton, topped the ‘best pre/post natal activities’ category at the What’s On 4 Australia Junior Awards 2016 on the Gold Coast.

The awards reward and celebrate the best in children’s activities, classes, clubs, volunteers and kids’ party entertainers across Australia.

Kangatraining national team leader Sarah Tarrant said the accolade was a great achievement for the program, which started classes in Melton in March.

“I’m so proud of our Kangatraining team – it just goes to show how important this program has been to mums and bubs all over Australia,” she said.

Caroline Springs trainer Mercia Pretorius said Kangatraining was more than just a workout.

“It’s perfect for allowing mothers to get out of the house and socialise and exercise with their babies,” she said.

Term three starts at Burnside Children’s and Community Centre, Eynesbury Discovery Centre and Banchory Community Centre on July 12 and runs until September 15.
