Cars left unlocked

Thieves targeted six vehicles between midnight and 5.30am on Monday, June 1, at Burnside and Burnside Heights. Police say the vehicles were rummaged through and items thrown around. All six vehicles had been left unlocked. Police are urging drivers to lock their vehicles and not leave valuable items in plain sight.

Centre in hot water cycle

Two hot water systems were stolen from the Sanctuary Childcare Centre at Hillside on Tuesday, June 2. Police say this is the second time in a month the childcare centre’s hot water systems have been targeted. Last month, Star Weekly reported on a spate of thefts of hot water systems. Pizza manager assaulted

Police are on the look-out for offenders who assaulted a Domino’s Pizza manager before fleeing with cash, a mobile phone and keys. The offenders, driving a stolen Nissan Skyline, ran into the Melton Highway store at Hillside at 11.15pm on Sunday, May 31, jumped the counter and threatened the manager with a weapon, demanding cash. One then assaulted the manager when he pressed the panic button.
