Right on the edge of town in Essence estate, this modern house on about 600 square metres is in a spot where future development is expected, with land earmarked for a school and shops. Young families can be a part of a community growing up around them, while enjoying a house that has everything in place to support today’s lifestyle.

The decor is well done, with a colour palette of latte, mocha and grey, sheers at some windows, fabric pelmets where it counts and statement lightfittings.

On the right of the entry hall (with pale honey-toned floorboards), there’s an open, grey-carpeted lounge room, the spot for retreat when entertaining or getting some quiet time away from the living hub’s activity.

Next door, the main bedroom has a walk-through wardrobe and an en suite with dual vanity basins and heat lamp. Three more bedrooms, each with built-in wardrobe, are at the back, as are a separate toilet and sleek main bathroom. Just near the bedrooms, at the end of the living hub, there’s a small study nook, well placed for parental supervision.

The glossy floorboards continue in the living hub, where the sitting area has a gas log fire which not only keeps things winter-cosy but also serves as a design focal point. The kitchen has loads of appeal, with a mocha-hued stone-topped island bench, soft-mocha glass splashback, big walk-in pantry, Bosch dishwasher and a 900mm gas cooker under a canopy rangehood. The laundry is just next door.

The meals zone opens to a covered deck (with ceiling fan) which looks out to brick planter boxes with showy impatiens and palms lending their greenery. Out back, there’s a heap of lawn space and fence lines are screened with pittosporums.

Other attractions include ducted heating, split-system, a side gate to a parking spot for boat/caravan, and a remote-controlled double garage. And for golf enthusiasts, there’s a course just around the corner.
