Fatal freeway crash at Ballan

A man has died in Ballan this morning following a car crash.

A car, travelling towards Ballarat, is believed to have crossed the centre media strip and collided with a truck on the Western Freeway about 7am.

The male driver, who was also the sole occupant of the car, died at the scene. The two male occupants of the truck were not injured.

This morning’s fatality brings the road toll to 97, nine more than last year.
