Some of the big ticket items for Melton and Moorabool in the 2016 State Budget including some which have been previously announced.
- $518 million to duplicate the Ballarat railway line from Deer Park to Melton.
- $102 million has been set aside to acquire land for future construction of schools, including in Melton.
- Future upgrades to Melton Secondary College and Melton West Primary School will be planned.
- $12 million to build Taylors Hill Secondary College.
- $5.4 million to upgrade Melton Specialist School
- Undisclosed amount~ to fund a mobile outreach service for young people facing homelessness in Melton, and the ongoing funding for crisis accommodation centre in Melton.
- $50 million for the Interface Growth Fund
Moorabool
- $3 million for Bacchus Marsh College
- This budget provides $80.7 million to upgrade facilities at six emergency training services, and decommission and remediate the Fiskville Training College site.
- The Government will enhance water and irrigation infrastructure within the Macalister, Bacchus Marsh, and Werribee irrigation districts.
- $2.94 million to refurbish 15 police stations including Bacchus Marsh
