Fraser Street Reserve to receive facelift

New landscaping, a barbecue shelter and exercise stations will be added to Melton’s Fraser Street reserve thanks to a $271,000 state government Interface Growth Fund grant.

Local Government Minister Natalie Hutchins joined Melton MP Don Nardella and mayor Kathy Majdlik for the much-anticipated funding announcement recently. Works are due to start in early August and take about six months.

Melton council youth and recreation manager Adrian Burns said designs are being finalised before going to the state government for approval.

Cr Majdlik said the council appreciates working collaboratively across all levels of government.

Mr Nardella said the park would be an ideal place for families to visit. “Melton is a culturally diverse and young community … it’s important families have places like Fraser Street Reserve.”
