Bulls crucial win

Bacchus Marsh got a much needed victory as it tries to stay in touch with the top four in the Ballarat Cricket Association.

Last season’s premiers, find themselves outside the top four heading into the back part of the season with a mountain of work ahead of them.

On Saturday, the Bulls got a crucial win against Napoleons Sebastopol in the first game after the break.

Batting first at home, the Bulls were bowled out for 215 with 11 balls left in their innings.

Alex Porter top scored with 83 at the top of the order.

He and Harrison Scardamaglia put on 90 for the first wicket to set up the innings.

The Bulls were able to get regular wickets throughout the Napoleons Sebastopol innings to put the pressure back on the opposition.

They were able to bowl them out for 183 in the 48th over.

Matthew Crea took 4-37 for the Bulls.

After 10 matches, the Bulls sit eighth on the ladder 18 points behind fourth placed East Ballarat.

Meanwhile, Darley suffered its second loss of the season, losing to East Ballarat.

The Hawks won the toss and decided to bat on their home deck.

They made 219 as they were bowled out with 13 balls remaining.

Sajith Dissanayaka took four wickets and Ben Whitehouse took three for Darley.

The Lions were in a good spot in their run chase at 1-81 before the wickets started to fall.

They weren’t able to get any partnerships going and were bowled out for 195.

Dissanayaka top scored with 60 at the top of the order.

The Lions sit in third spot.
