RDNL: Melton Centrals in thumping A grade win

It MAY have been a dark day for the footballers, but Melton Centrals’ A grade netball team provided some relief with another massive victory.

The Centrals smashed Diggers Rest 71-25 and remain undefeated at the top of the ladder after eight games.

She made 54 goal attempts, hitting 46 of them to shoot at a remarkable 86 per cent. Rebecca Morabito scored 15 goals and Bree Dean 10. Lauren Page’s 12 goals were the best for Diggers Rest.

Kila Elavo put up 29 goals for Sunbury as the Kangaroos won their sixth game of the year, beating Lancefield 51-37. Sunbury had to withstand a late charge from Lancefield and was outscored 10-6 in the final term. Alex Darby scored 25 goals for the Tigers.

Wallan’s Kate Bishop was the difference in the clash between the Magpies and Woodend-Hesket, scoring 36 goals in the 52-36 win.

Maddeline Starrisina scored 23 goals for the Hawks.

Hope Hamilton scored 39 goals in a dominant display for Romsey as the Redbacks beat Rupertswood 51-33. Nikki Spencer’s 24 goals were the best for Rupo.
