A Bacchus Marsh man has been arrested after allegedly driving a stolen vehicle in Hillside on Thursday night.

Police first spotted the stolen 1994 Nissan Skyline on Falcon Drive in Melton about 9.55pm.

It is believed the car was allegedly stolen from a shopping centre in Melton last week.

The driver allegedly fled on foot but was arrested without incident shortly after.

The 33-year-old was taken to hospital under police guard with minor injuries sustained during the crash.

No one else was injured.

Melton Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the incident and it remains ongoing.
