Inaugural Eynesbury farmers market

Hundreds of fresh-food lovers are expected to flock to Eynesbury’s first farmers market to sample and enjoy a great range of produce.

Organisers Frederic Blevin and Felicity Ashman (pictured) say the first accredited farmers market in the area will be a weekly event with widespread benefits. The market will support producers and groups including sports clubs and the Country Fire Authority.

“There are about 45 stallholders so far, and we’re encouraging more”, Mr Blevin said. “A marquee will shelter all stallholders if it rains.”

As well as many stalls offering fresh fruit and vegies, there will be a bakery and patisserie, cooking demonstrations by professional chefs, and kids’ clubs teaching children how to grow their own fruit and vegetables.

The market, at 487 Eynesbury Road, Eynesbury, will run from 9.30am to 2pm every Sunday, starting October 18.
